Note from Sundara...If my high school French teachers were dead, they'd be turning over in their graves at my total bastardization of the language. I am fully aware that the correct translation of The French Hydrangea should be L'Hortensia Français. But, I didn't like how it sounded. And if I'm going to put the time and effort into dyeing another French Hydrangea, I wanted to name it something pretty. And Un Hydrangea Français sounds better, don't you think?
What this has in common with the first French Hydrangea is that it is...let's say a distant cousin to that original. I will never be able to recreate this one, just like I'll never be able to recreate that first color. But they coordinate well. They are both in the hydrangea family. I have no idea how I dyed this. I was throwing dye in pots (because a bunch of you asked if I could "pretty please try again" and I like a challenge). I kept my fingers crossed, and hoped it MIGHT turn out close to something hydrangea-like. I think I just got lucky. And since I'm now two for two, I'm never tempting fate again. We are officially done with french hydrangeas.
"Un Hydrangea Français" will not be dyed again. Please don't ask. Three batches available. Yarn will ship next week.
