Note from Sundara...I did a little walk down memory lane to see what I was dyeing a year ago, and I found one that was particularly lovely, "The French Hydrangea," and I thought "let's see what comes up if I google "Italian hydrangea." This photo came up! And some how it felt so appropriately Italian––luxurious and sophisticated, with a hint of romance––that I had to dye it for us.
This is a purple for people who maybe, let's say, aren't always purple people. It's not in your face purple. It's a more subtle purple, with a lot of blues to tone it down. If you've always wanted to try purple, or if your stash is lacking purple, this would be a good skein to take a chance on. Or, if you love purple or have a purple-lover in your life, it will satisfy all your purple needs.
"The Italian Hydrangea" will not be dyed again.
Extra Fine Fingering Silky Merino is 437 yards and 100 grams of 75% super wash merino and 25% mulberry silk.
7 stitches per inch on US 3/3.25mm needles.
Gently hand wash in tepid water for project longevity.
