Note from Sundara...I had a lovely customer ask me to look into "non-merino" aran yarns, and since I won't touch BFL with a ten-foot pole because of the itch factor, my other alternative was a silk alpaca blend that I hadn't ever bothered to look at because of the cost and some notion I had in my head about resiliency of alpaca and how any sweater knit with alpaca and silk would get stretched out and be stupid. Seriously. That was what I thought. Let me tell you I was the stupid one because I don't care how stretched out a sweater knit out of this yarn gets. This yarn is so stupid soft, it is worth it. This yarn is roll-around-naked soft. Soft as a baby's bottom soft. Softer than soft. Seriously. I don't know what I was thinking. I never want to knit with another yarn ever again. It's worth every single penny.

My lovely customer had a color request which I promptly forgot because the shine on this yarn. OMG. I saw this photo and started walking around with a skein of the yarn and nattering on to my eleven-year-old about shimmer and gleam and the thickness of the strands making it possible to capture the reflection of the light in a way I couldn't on any other yarn. I MEAN LOOK AT THAT SHINE. I have to yell in all caps. There is no other way to convey my excitement. It's so gorgeous. Get some. You won't regret it.

"The Ephemera of Light" won't be dyed again.
