Note from Sundara...I've been trying to figure out what this flower actually is. Is it an amaryllis, which makes this a very appropriate winter-themed inspiration, or are they lilies or even possibly gladiolas? I suppose it doesn't matter all that much, in that regardless of what they are, they are glorious, full of rich variations that capture the dark feeling of the winter months.
But what I also like is that the color is also simultaneously a bit summery, what with it's blackberry, raspberry, and plum tones. It's somehow multi-seasonal, which I suppose makes it perfect for a lightweight sweater or shawl knit out of sport weight yarn that would work as a layering piece in the depth of winter but also one you could throw on in the cooler summer evenings.
"Blossoms in the Dark" is available to order until Friday, at 9:30am pacific time. This color will not be offered again and the yarn will ship later next week.
