Note from Sundara...A couple years ago now I realized I lost** the two big spreadsheets that contained HOW I DYED ALL MY YARN COLORS. It was kind of a major loss because it was years and years of work, so I tried not to think about it because they were just gone, and I moved on. New colors to dye. But then! Just last week, I found SOME of my old colors in a file in a drive that I didn't know I had. Not all of them. Maybe 10% of them. But some. The wonders of the internet. To celebrate, I decided to dye up some Arabian Nights cause I was really sad I lost that color. It was always everybody's favorite.
I dyed up fingering merino because that's just practical and lace silky mohair because I couldn't remember ever dyeing Arabian Nights in lace silky mohair and look at it! Actually, you really should look at it in person because it is way more spectacular in person. Arabian Nights is usually a gorgeous complex brown with bits of purple, but on the lace silky mohair, the mohair takes it all cinnamon-brown and the silk goes all purple and it is a WONDER. Seriously, you should get some of both of these yarns and hold them together to create something absolutely fabulous. You won't regret it. Especially if I do something stupid like lose the spreadsheet again.
"Arabian Nights" might be dyed again at some point because it's Arabian Nights. It's a classic. Updated: half a batch of the fingering merino left.
**I deleted the spreadsheets because I am an idiot. That's the best I can figure out. I don't know how or why or when or what I was thinking. I have everything backed up. But it doesn't work to back things up when you do something stupid like delete the damn thing and don't notice until months and months later.
Extra Fine Fingering Merino is 437 yards and 100 grams of 100% super wash merino.

Lace Silky Mohair is 460 yards and 50 grams of 70% ultra-fine kid mohair and 30% silk.

Visit product page →Note from Sundara...I had a lovely customer send me this inspiration photo with a request for yarn in these colors because she said that while I've dyed several bright blue Santorini inspired Daily Dreams over the years, I've never done any Santorini at night (that she could remember) and she had fond memories of the time just after sunset when she visited the island years ago.

Visit product page →Note from Sundara...After I dyed "Scotland Yard" a few weeks ago, one of you lovelies emailed me and said you were going to Ireland in May and asked for some more green, but inspired by Ireland. And you know I love dyeing green yarn, so how could I say no?
And this is all the green. Literally all the green. Name the green and it is in there. Shamrock (Obviously. It's Ireland), moss, emerald, jade, forest, lime, olive. Hints of teal-green. It's gorgeous. Just gorgeous. So if you aren't making a trip to Ireland, but want to pretend you are, this yarn will certainly take you there.

Visit product page →Note from Sundara...This is one of those inspiration photos that I'm embarrassed to admit how long I've had kicking around because it means admitting how many times I've tried, and failed, to dye yarn inspired by it. (So many, many, many times) Let's just say it's one of those inspiration photos that keeps me humble as a yarn dyer.
But no more! I have found success! I am, at long last, triumphant! And, OMG, it is glorious! So glorious I'm keeping an embarrassing large amount of this color for myself. It's all peachy gold mixed with sunrise rosiness. It's divine. It's like the heavens opened up and angels sang. And I'm pretty sure the dye pot fairies had everything to do with it because obviously I haven't ever been able to accomplish this sort of loveliness on my own. So if you are looking for yarn touched by angels and sprinkled with fairy dust, here's your chance.😉

Visit product page →Note from Sundara...Full disclosure. This was an attempt at the robin's egg color from a week or so ago, but things didn't go as planned and I had to make do. I've been obsessing over this photo since I used it once before and decided to take the opportunity to revisit it. Because it is so very fascinating. All that obsidian sand and teal-turquoise sea. Glorious! Glorious! Glorious!
And the yarn is just as glorious. All teal-turquoise with hints of that obsidian sand washed over it. I'd knit the new "Obione" shawl by Urbane if it were me. It's 4 skeins, but the pattern is free! If you want something with fewer skeins, "Storm Shawl" by Joji is just as lovely and only needs 1 skein. I should also note that this does coordinate with the robin's egg color in fingering silky merino, so if you got some of that, and you wanted to get some of this, you'd have a few skeins of a lighter and darker in this hue for something sort of gradient-y. Or coordinate-y. Just a thought.
