9 to 5

Note from Sundara... When I thought about dyeing yarn inspired by Dolly Parton, the first thing that came to mind was her song "9 to 5." It's probably my earliest memory of what I would consider "Dolly Parton" and is what I consider quintessential Dolly in a way. Because the song itself sounds so upbeat and peppy with memorable lines such as "Pour myself a cup of ambition" but when I read the actual lyrics, it's kind of dark. Not to be a downer, but man, life sucked for a working woman in the 80s. Remember that? And what's amazing is how she managed to make so much of her life and her career regardless. That's why we love her.

So this color is dark, like the lyrics of "9 to 5," but I know that you, like Dolly, will make it into something beautiful and memorable.
