Plum Perfect

Note from Sundara...I have an obsession with purple roses. How awesome are they? I got myself one off Etsy and promptly killed it, so now I'm trying to decide what new one to get. This one, Plum Perfect, is a top contender. It's so great, I decided to dye it up in yarn. I like that the purple goes both warm (red-violet) and cool (blue-violet). Makes for some interesting yarn.

Since this has the linen in, which I like to remind us all, doesn't technically "take" the dye because I use acid dyes and acid dyes only work on protein fibers. Which in this yarn is the alpaca and the silk. Linen, being a plant fiber, stays "natural," creating flecks throughout the strands. The yarn was created to do this specifically, and in this case, it tones down the purples so they aren't PURPLE. It's lovely. And the linen softens every time you wash it, so it gets better with wear. I think it's a four-season yarn. Perfect for a summer tank that you can wear under a cardigan come winter.
